The “Error during initialisation” “unhandled exception caught” errors that happen everytime windows 10 updates.
Many Supposed ‘solutions’ for this problem are “go back to Windows 7”
That is not a solution, that is, uninformed people who give bad advice.
I will teach you now, how to solve the problem.
Properly, without uninstalling Windows 10 and returning to 7 or 8.
I am writing this guide to help anyone who is faced with this problem, especially as we get closer to the official launch of Windows 10.
Are you playing through the steam or is it pirated? I will give you the solution to the error if you are playing with steam.
Install Visual C ++ Redistributables. You can find the correct Redista for Visual C. Only the x86 version is required here.
You can find this in your black folder ops 2, under redist. For example, mine is here:
“C:\Steam\steamapps\common\CallofDutyBlackOpsII\redist\vcredist_x86.exe” Run that file to install it.
Then, make sure you have the correct DX9 libraries installed.
these are also found in the redista folder. run dxsetup.exe that is located in the redist\directx folder,
for example, mine is here
“C:\Steam\steamapps\common\CallofDutyBlackOpsII\redist\DirectX\DXSETUP.exe”
Start to steam, right click on the service call: operations in black II, go to properties.
click on the Local Files tab, and then “verify the integrity of the game cache” Let the process finish, some files can be downloaded.
Restart the game and ENJOY!
If it still does not work, I suggest opening the game as Administrator using the compatibility settings.
If you still facing issues Follow another process to fix this issues
The first thing you should do is make sure that your visual libraries c are updated and installed.
You can locate the correct red list for Visual C. Only the x86 version is required here.
you can find this in your black folder ops 2, under redist
For example, mine is here:
“E:\Steam\steamapps\common\CallofDutyBlackOpsII\redist\vcredist_x86.exe”
execute that, install it. Now, the next thing to do is make sure you have the correct DX9 libraries installed.
these are also found in the redist folder.
Run dxsetup.exe that is located in the redist\directx folder,
for example, mine is here
“E:\Steam\steamapps\common\CallofDutyBlackOpsII\redist\DirectX\DXSETUP.exe”
after that,
Right click on t6mp.exe
click on the compatibility tab, check the following options.
Run this program in compatibility mode for Windows 8 or 7, if one does not work, try the other.
(and run this program as administrator)
(Note: these instructions were written when Windows 10 was still Technical preview, it is no longer necessary to run as administrator)
Click on Apply.
now you’re almost done.
go into steam, right click on the call of duty: black ops ii – multiplayer, go to the properties.
click on the Local Files tab, and then “verify the integrity of the game cache”
Let this process be completed, and once done. run the game
It seems likely that the game is installed for a few seconds and then it will work.
I have been running Windows 10 for a while, and with each update, I have needed to perform these actions to make Black Ops II work again.
I hope this helps at least one of you.
